Similarly, the second place winners were Ricardo Muñoz Rodríguez, David Rodríguez Herrero and Luciano Louzane.

The purpose of this award, organized by the Innovation and Sustainability Department of the OHL Group, is to recognize the innovation developed in the Group's activities and the innovative ideas contributed by employees, so they can help increase productivity and efficiency in the works and construction processes from the point of view of R&D+i.

During the awards ceremony, Juan-Miguel Villar Mir highlighted the fundamental nature of R&D+i in OHL's business strategy and announced that this award, currently awarded every two years, would will be given each year from this point forward.

"I always say, said the president, that if things go well, there are two general conditions, work, work, work and be emotionally stable. In the case of OHL, in addition, the two key levers drivers that have allowed us to grow and successfully navigate the current crisis have been internationalization and innovation."

Juan-Miguel Villar Mir said that the Group is present today in 34 countries on five continents through its internationalization policy and is performing well, "for which R&D has been crucial."

The Chairman expressed his satisfaction with the role that OHL is playing in national and international R&D+i platforms. He also made special mention of the awards received by SATO, the Group's Marina Infrastructure subsidiary, in the International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva in 2011, and for its recent appointment as president of Cotec.
